[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]How many times do you hear the word ‘should’?
How many times do you think to yourself, “I should do (fill in the blank).”?
What do you do with all of your shoulds?
It’s easy to think that we should do something, whether it’s in our personal or our professional lives. If we’re not hearing advice from those who supposedly know coming at us, then we’re comparing ourselves to others (hey, don’t do that) or thinking of things that we think we ought to do to improve some aspect of our lives. If you can’t think of a time when you thought you should do something for your books, whether that’s write more or a new marketing strategy, then you’re probably not even trying. Some of us even have elaborate to do lists filled with things we think we should do.
But do you really?
Something that’s been calling to me rather strongly is the understanding that we are safe when we follow our own inner guidance. We need to tune into this guidance to see what we want to do, and I mean really want to do–not what we should do.
I encourage you to think about those items on your to do list. Do you really need to do them? Or are they “shoulds”? I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
