Do you... continue patiently waiting Submit to a handful of agents, still holding out hope for your favorite to reply. Keeping moving down your agent list. Your right match is out there. Give up on the story and contemplate not writing another Wonder if your story isn't good enough and revise it while you wait. None You're having a hard time working on your project. You've got writer's block. What now? I question if maybe I was cut out to be a writer. I start another project. I go back to my story, seeing if I missed a motivation or a plot point to get the story moving again. I stop writing until the inspiration comes back to me. I may never write again. I use charater interviews, letters from my character, whatever it takes to dive in and see if I can't discover something. None You read a book and it has a lot of simple typos and errors. How do you feel? I make note of the publisher/editor listed, if any. I don't want to use them. I see who published the book, then reach out and ask if they'd like the information. I write the author and tell them. They want to know to fix it, right? I take it personally that my much cleaner manuscript hasn't sold/doesn't sell as many copies. It must be me, right? I ignore them. Typos happen. None You send a book off to an editor and it comes back heavy with marked charges. How do you handle it? I can't bring msyelf to complete the edits. It's such a big job to fix, and I'm not sure I can. I seek a second opinion. I don't think my work should have that many suggestions. I read through the changes and if they apply I accept them. If not, I don't and explain why. I put the manuscript away. Obviously it wasn't ready. I accept all the changes. The editor knows best, right? None You use a popular review service and a few of the reviews are 1* or 2*. What do you do? I email the readers and ask them to change their rating. Obviously they're wrong. I don't read reviews. Who needs that negativity? Realize that not every book is for everyone and concentrate on the 5* and 4* reviews. I get depressed and wonder if anyone really likes my book. I'm upset for a while, but I get over it. None Time's up Submit a Comment Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
